Electrofusion welding is a method of welding polyethylene pipes and joints. The electrofusion installation method, as the name suggests, is an electrofusion method. In electrofusion joints, electric current is used to generate heat. In the electrofusion method, special connections that have electrical resistance wire are used to generate heat for melting the welding surfaces. The electric current is transferred to the two ends of the connection through the electrofusion welding machine and with the help of its control box. This heat causes the surface of the pipe and the connection to melt and cause a weld between them. In order to achieve a good weld, the following points must be observed:
- The welding surface should be clean
- Tools and equipment used in electrofusion connections must be tested
- Check the verticality of the pipe head and connection
- Controlling the displacement of welding components
- Complete removal of the oxide layer from the welding surface by an automatic scraper
- Using a good quality generator
